The Dwarf Fortress Starter Pack, maintained by PeridexisErrant, is a superb all-in-one compilation of tools, tilesets, the game launcher and the game itself. The forums have a good selection but can be hard to sort through.

Basic graphics too for the main races, if you like that sort of thing.

This mod aims to translate the things unique to the world of Minecraft (creatures, plants, ores etc) into the world and spirit of Dwarf Fortress.
